A piece by local artist and occasional Source contributor Kaycee Anseth Townsend has been tapped as the label for the 2012 Jubelale release, a particularly significant batch because it marks the 25th anniversary of the iconic winter ale.
Anseth Townsends depicts a group of half dozen carolers standing around a street light humming with a warm orange glow against a Van Gogh like starry night background. According to Deschutes, the piece, which looks like a traditional oil painting, is actually a mixed media collage that incorporates actual fragments from all 24 previous labels, many of which are recognizable to the astute observer.
Believe it or not, Jubelale hits store shelves in early October. No word yet on when the newly remodeled pub will hold its annual Jubelale release party, but stay tuned to the Bent Blog for details as the date approaches.
