Okay, so the title to this blog post is only half true.

Matt Harmon and Kali Giaritta— the last two remaining members of Portland's The Ascetic Jukies have finally decided to call it quits, but just as The AJs. On Monday, the married pair will officially re-launch themselves as the new band, There Is No Mountain. Truth be told, I love the new name.

We hinted at this change in a blog post last month after a house concert the duo played out in Deschutes River Woods.

The reason for the change is, in reality, Harmon and Giaritta aren't the same band they once were. The AJs used to be a quintet, complete with a banjo player. Now as a duo and with a sound much less bluegrass-y, it is time to re-brand their output.

And speaking of that output, check out the first official song released by There Is No Mountain below. Along with a new site, TINM is also embarking on their third cross-country tour and first under the new name. So hit up the schedule and alert friends in those towns that great music is headed their way!
