What in the World? Today's News!

The People to Whitey Bulger: Can you hear me now? Today, relatives of victims killed by Whitey Bulger will face the mob boss in a Boston federal court.

Don't do it! The White House has warned Congress that slapping new sanctions on Iran could ruin any hope of nuclear negotiations and launch the U.S. into another war. (War? No thanks).

It's only getting worse for residents of Tacloban, the Filipino city that was ravaged by a typhoon which left 650,000 people homeless and killed nearly 10,000. Infighting has started as thirst and hunger proves too much to bear. Portland-based MercyCorps has sent help.

In MUCH lighter, sporting news, Outside magazine has released it's 2014 Gear of the Year (as well as all the best winter gear).

The rainbow state okays same sex marriage. Hawaii is now the 15th state to legalize same-sex marriage. Hello? Oregon? Are you there?

And, here's a book dedicated to high-speed photos of wet dogs shaking their heads. Kinda hilarious.

Yesterday was Neil Young's 68th birthday. Long may you run, old man.
