Anyone notice it’s getting darker earlier?

There are several studies that show a dramatic shift in moods and behaviors as a result of the time change earlier this month. Even eating more is attributed to turning the clocks back an hour.

This week’s Friday Mixtape is meant to compliment the loss of sunlight and does so with delicate and folksy singer/songwriter songs that mimic the quieter streets as we are plunged into winter.

Ultra-heartfelt tunes from Redbird, Gregory Alan Isakov and Agnes Obel all lazily stretch out across this playlist with all the soothing effects of slow burning embers in a fireplace. Newcomers Lily & Madeline add their youthful whimsy and dusty duo The Wood Brothers cozy up with plucky upright bass and homey vocals.
