Happy Friday! It's a big weekend in Central Oregon...the PPP is tomorrow and we are riding the high of one of the first really great weather weeks of the season. So, what to do if you're not Pole-ing, Peddling, or Paddling (or after you're done)? There's lots of live music happening! Here's a few of our top choices:

Zonked Out Vibe Night- An epic lineup of local electronic spinners—Jay Tablet, Rory Oneders, DJ Harlo, Matt Wax and Royal Louis, Bend’s anti-Euro club jammers—present what they call “dark” party music. Intriguing and totally danceable. Ladies, no cover. Guys, $3. Friday. 5/16, 9pm. Dojo.

Hot Buttered Rum- Adopting the music sensibilities of Appalachia and applying a Northern California lyrical take on bluegrass has ingratiated this sextet to the granola set, while retaining enough grit and instrumental finesse to pull in old timers, too. Even in a venue the size of the Belfry, there’ll surely be some two-stepping going on. $18 advance/$22 at the door. Saturday, 5/17. 8p. The Belfry (Sisters).

The Chop Tops with Hopeless Jack and the Handsome Devil (Swoon!)-Pompadours, please. This Santa Cruz, Calif., band voices it’s love for all things hot-rod related, while dishing out a soldered together batch of punk, country and surf. Hearing that slapped bass and watching this trio speed through its work might result in some desire to drag race. But just resist and dig the music. $8 adv, $10 door. Saturday, 5/17, 8pm. Volcanic Theatre Pub

If none of these appeal to you, here's that video of the cat saving the kid from the dog again. Have a great weekend, Bend!
