Fancy a smoke near Riverside Market? Think again.

Crews from Cascade Natural Gas, Bend Fire, Bend Police and Bend Water Utilities are working to fix a natural gas leak on Riverside Boulevard between NW Hood Place and the Riverside Market. Air levels and wind conditions are being monitored to protect public health and safety, and residents living within a half block of the leak have been asked to evacuated their homes.

The gas leak started this morning when crews hits 2-inch gas line while trying to fix a water leak. The problem is expected to be resolved with a couple hours; the City is asking people to avoid the area in the meantime.
