G. Love, The Belle Brigade Tonight in Bend

G. Love and Special Sauce hit the Domino Room with special guests The Belle Brigade.

In this week's paper, there's a great feature on G. Love, who is playing tonight at the Domino Room beginning at 9pm and the last time I checked, there were still tickets available.

The 9pm show is on a tour of G. Love dates supporting his newly released disc, Fixin' To Die, the first record on which G. Love plays without Special Sauce -- the backing band he'll have with him tonight. But the record is a delight, partially because it was produced by The Avett Brothers, giving it more twang and blues than the hip-hop edge we've come to expect from Mr. Love.

G. Love will be doing an on-air interview soon here at 92.9FM so tune in or listen online.

Also appearing tonight is a super cool opening act out of Los Angeles called The Belle Brigade fronted by the brother and sister combo of Barbara and Ethan Gruska. The siblings just happen to be the kids of singer-songwriter Jay Gruska and the grandchildren of legendary film score composer John Williams. Not a bad musical pedigree.

I'd enjoyed their new self-titled album, but got a real taste for them the other night on Jimmy Kimmel, when they played this song:
