    Re: “OUT on the Outs
OCO's website doesn't even say who its board members are. So much for visibility and transparency.

    Re: “Holiday, Not Hams
The Field Roast is a heavy lump not worth anyone’s time or digestive capacity. The dried mushroom soup that came with it was execrable. The only way I was able to make the “roast" work was cutting it into cubes after baking and folding it into stir fry with fresh vegetables. That said, bad food is bad food. I’d stick with Tofurkey if I was making a vegan entree for the holiday.

Oh wait-- Sally wants to apply the discretionary portion of the Room Tax, that which might otherwise be used to fund infrastructure repair and improvements. Our Mayor can always be assured to step up when fiduciary duty is calling. /s

"Russell said she felt using the discretionary portion of the Transient Room Tax the City receives from hotel and short-term rental taxes could be used to fund the project."

Oh dear-- is our Mayor trying to get the city sued AGAIN over misappropriation of the hotel tax?

I wonder who accounted for the two points towards openly LGBTQ elected officials. Oh wait...

    Source Editors:

Since you didn't care to publish the letter to the editor I sent you on July 9, here it is as an online comment which concurs with Michael Funke's letter:

I was deeply concerned to learn over the weekend of allegations against Nathan Boddie. My concern was amplified when I read Nathan's response to the Source, in which he doubled down against what is essentially an allegation of sexual assault. Moey Newbold has a great deal of bravery and integrity and Nathan's response to the Source was character assassination, which is just wrong. Full stop. Wrong.

Nathan approached me as an elected official several months ago with a request to endorse his campaign for state assembly. While I agreed to do so at the time, I can no longer endorse Nathan's political career at any level, and encourage him to drop out of the race as soon as possible so that a new candidate can be chosen by the Deschutes Democrats. The longer he waits, the more damage he does, both to the Democrats and to the greater community.
