Boneyard Beer

Readers love Boneyard beer, that much is clear. The little brewery and tasting room tucked away on a West Bend side street won Best Local Brewer, Best Locally Brewed Beer (RPM IPA) and Best IPA (RPM IPA). Almost since its inception, the hops-heaven RPM has been a favorite, in Bend and beyond. But Boneyard doesn't rest on its hops laurels. Co-owner and head brewer Tony Lawrence has also cranked out session ales, sours, stouts and something he calls an "Imperial Cascadian." All of the brews have something special about them, whether it's the punch of a boozy high alcohol content or the sweet, tart mellowness of a beer brewed with Oregon cherries, Lawrence's concoctions are as delicious as they are memorable. From Boneyard's diverse array of brews to its unique tasting room, $6 growler fills (every Wednesday) and anti-establishment attitude, Boneyard continues to sit at the top of the heap. (JW)
