Best Place to Get a Facial

SPA W

It appears Spa W has been taking notes from Aretha Franklin's Grammy team. Since the Source added Best Spa to the Best of Central Oregon ballot, Spa W has won every year. That's 12 years, for anyone keeping count.

Rebecca Yeomans, bought Spa W in 2005; the previous owner had owned the spa since 1998. Yeomans parlayed her business degree in hospitality administration, with an emphasis on spa management, and her passion for success into the retreat at 125 NW Wall Street.

To properly educate myself for this article, I made a manicure appointment. My nail technician, Alicia, was friendly and informed, and I found myself wanting to ask if she'd join me for lunch. The spa was inviting, with soothing water heard trickling from all directions.

The 23 employees and Yeomans create seasonal offerings to keep the menu fresh. A current summer pedicure is the Peach Bellini. Can I order a sexy gondolier to go with that? The cucumber mojito, also on the seasonal list, is also refreshing and reminiscent of afternoons on a patio.

This fall a mask bar will be added to the facial menu with four options: brightening, cooling, acne and renewal. In keeping with current trends, Yeomans' father, a beekeeper with 15 hives, is providing honey to the spa for therapeutic raw honey treatments. Spa W will also sell jars of the honey.

With a dedicated staff, a long list of regular clients and exciting new products and packages, Yeomans is poised to continue her reign as owner of the Best Spa in Central Oregon. (SY)
