Don't Hate on STP

When I opened up the most recent issue of the Source I was extremely disappointed to see that there was no mention of the last concert of the season, STP, at Les Schwab. The Stone Temple Pilots rocked the house like I have not seen in a loooong time. Having gone to a few other shows this summer, and one or two last summer, not to mention MANY other rock shows in different areas, this was by far the loudest, heaviest, and most fun of all! It was a nice change of pace to see some healthy head-banging, mild moshing, and even a few security breaches! STP brought back a style of songs, sounds, and feelings that a lot of newer, so-called "rock" bands lack. Somehow they knew exactly what the crowd needed and when they needed it. (I don't know what that funky stuff in the middle was, but this is Scott Weiland we're talking about.) STP played amazing songs, gave a fantastic light show, and played an actual full set! (unlike BECK) Even with the front section inconveniently roped off and with the extra gate the security placed right in front of us minutes before STP hit the stage, they kicked-ass in a way that tells me Bend still has a rowdy, rocker side that shouldn't be afraid to hide!
