The Metropolitan Opera: The Merry Widow
Lehár's operetta has been incredibly successful since its 1905 premiere in Vienna, Austria. The story follows a rich widow and the men in her life that attempt to control her so they can keep her money local. That sounds right up Bend's alley! The operetta has proved so popular over the last century that there have been ballet adaptations, as well as five different film versions. If you are not familiar with the piece, watching the Met go about its wonderful ways adapting it should be the perfect entry point.

The Big Lebowski
The most quotable film of the past 20 years has its yearly showing at The Tower Theatre. The film follows Jeff "The Dude" Lebowski as a case of mistaken identity gets him dunked in his own toilet, screwed with by Nihilists and his favorite rug peed on. As the Dude searches for satisfaction, he will get sucked into the seedy realm of porn king Jackie Treehorn, wile out with his veteran pal Walter Sobchak and roll plenty of balls at hundreds of pins. One of the finest films of the Coen Brothers' prolific film career and easily one of the funniest films of all time. And if you don't love it, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Cold Rolled and Among the Wild
Bend Cyclery and Pine Mountain Sports present a double feature of fatbike films at McMenamins. Cold Rolled explores the history of the winter biking culture in a small Michigan town. Among the Wild chronicles the Arrowhead 135, arguably one of the toughest races on the planet. Athletes compete by running, cycling or skiing 135 miles across Northern Minnesota along the ridiculously treacherous Arrowhead State Snowmobile Trail. The double feature is part of the Central Oregon Trail Alliance movie night series.

Winter Wildlands Alliance Presents The Backcountry Film Festival
Celebrating its 10th Anniversary with nine unique films aimed to inspire winter adventurers to seek the snow less traveled. Come early for good seats, cold beers and a killer raffle. Ticket also available at Crow's Feet Common and Pine Mountain Sports. Pre-bash gathering at Crow's Feet Commons 4-6 pm, bonfire and beers before the event.
