Tracing the Tea and Horse Trail
A short film about a (local) long distance runner, Kami Semick. The film tells the story of Semick's journey over the Tea and Horse Trail in China and Eastern Tibet. After working with the historian to map the trail and to hike the most difficult sections, she pulled together a team of U.S. and Chinese runners who traced 180 miles of this trail on foot in one week.
7 pm. Thurs., Nov. 20. Foot Zone, 842 NW Wall. Free.
Star Cross'd Jammers
Presented by Stars & Rainbows, Star Cross'd Jammers is a modernday Romeo and Juliet; well, Juliet and Juliet. Two roller derby players from opposing team crisscross their passions for each other and loyalties to their team.
6:30 pm. Mon., Nov. 24. Volcanic Theater, 70 SW Century. $5.
The Trail Running Film Festival
Yes, this is really a thing. Not ironic. A collection of films about running. On trails. If you have the mental fortitude to focus on the pounding of your own feet for hours on end, you probably will find these short films fascinating. Yup. A real thing.
6 pm. Wed., Nov. 26. Volcanic Theatre Pub, 70 SW Century Drive. $15.
