Most weeks, Microcosmos likes to keep our focus on Central Oregon, but a press release from our friends up at the Full Sail brewery caught our attention. The brewery announced this week that it's preparing to release its limited edition Black Gold cask-aged Imperial Stout.
The small batch brew was racked last January and sat for more than 12 months in Full Sail's cellar while the stout picked up the essence of bourbon and oak mixing with the natural chocolate and carmel flavors of the high-gravity stout (11.4 percent alcohol) If you're in the neighborhood, Full Sail hosts an official tasting 5 pm, Feb. 1 at the tasting room in Hood River and at its Riverplace Brewery in Portland.
