The minimal décor goes a long way when your tables are sandwiched between an open kitchen and a full-length bar. A subtle sophistication is evident throughout the restaurant; photographs and other images constantly change across three flat-screen TVs featured in the center of the dining room.
The big draw, however, is the patio overlooking the Deschutes River. Here patrons can sip down a glass of wine and munch on one of Fireside's tapas while taking in views of the Cascade skyline and Mt. Bachelor.
While the food is outstanding -with small plates priced reasonably enough to tempt one for a quick bite even without Happy Hour discounts-the striking sincerity of the staff is enough to keep the business flow steady. Even before the hostess opens the door to welcome you and long after your departure, the courteous staff makes a lasting impression.
