Keep It Real

Raised in the Evangelical Christian church and community I have no ill will toward the Christian Right. People can believe and practice as they wish.

Raised in the Evangelical Christian church and community I have no ill will toward the Christian Right. People can believe and practice as they wish. This is a protected right that I savor, something too precious. I do take issue with the faithful trying to pry their fingers into the cracks of science to promote a religious ideology. There are more churches in Bend than I can count on my fingers and toes. If any one of these claims to have the Absolute truth then they of course reveal themselves to be on the lowest rung of any "spiritual ladder." This is constantly bubbling to the surface in the case of Intelligent Design, A.K.A. creation science... endlessly pursuing a war against actual science.

Because the ID community is both well funded and growing in numbers, we need a new approach. We surrender... Let's teach ID and creation science to our students. We can teach them biology, anatomy, geology, chemistry, astronomy, computer science, theories of light... matter... gravity... E=MC2 and then we can show them that the earth is only 6000 yrs. old. The speed of light does not exist, gravity...nonsense! We know this because in around 750 B.C. two Middle Eastern tribes began a new language called Hebrew so they could begin a new homogenous culture. Combining the god El from the Babylonian pantheon and Yahweh from Canaanite traditions, they began to finally put oral story to print.

These guys knew about science... These guys put Einstein and Darwin to shame. Sure they thought the Earth was flat and the sun rotated around the home planet (maybe??) These new "scientists" the ones you see in scientific publications and on the Discovery Channel? Pawns in the biggest conspiracy in the history of mankind. I sure hope the students will be able to tell truth from fiction.

Please God...I hope so.
