Central Oregon's Last Comic Standing Finals

friday 19

It's finally here. The final round of competition for the more than month-long local comedy competition. This time around, the contestants get some extra time on stage to make you laugh your pretty little face off. If there's one thing we've learned during this contest, it's that there are plenty of funny people living among us, so come give them some support. $10. Old Stone Church, 157 NW Greenwood Ave.

Renegade Roller Derby Bout

The roller derby season is well underway and if you're the sort of dude or gal who likes no-holds-barred skating action, come check out this match-up between the Metal Mavens and the Glamour Goddesses. $10, kids under 10 free. 8pm.

The Ascetic

This Portland indie folk rock band, which has accumulated a solid following here in Bend, is finally releasing its new record, This Cage Has No Bottom, and are nice enough to head to the Silver Moon to celebrate. 24 NW Greenwood Ave.

Harmony 4 Women

saturday 20

We're not all about rock music and naughty jokes here at the Source, which is why we're recommending you check out this day of a cappella female performances, including plenty of seasoned singers, as well as some novices. If you really like to get in the mood for the holiday season, this would be a good place to start. The event is also a fundraiser for local non-profits. 2:30pm, 7pm, Summit High School, 2855 NW Clearwater Dr. $12 advance, $15/door.

Talib Kweli

saturday 20

With a new album on the horizon, Talib Kweli comes to Bend once again to get your body moving with his innovative hip-hop mastery. Check out the On Stage column for more. Opening sets by Mosley Wotta, DJ R-2, and a showcase of Bend's emerging MC's by Cada Casa. All ages. $22/adv at $25/door. 8pm. Century Center Ballroom, 70 SW Century Dr.

saturday 20

The grossest, most foul, ultimately disgusting rock and roll band in the universe is coming back to Bend for yet another pre-Thanksgiving gross-out show. Wear your worst clothes and get sprayed with fake blood and other fake bodily fluids by this legendary shock rock band. Also appearing on stage is The Casualties, Infernaeon and Mobile Deathcamp. Danger Ehren from Jackass is back again, too, and will sign autographs and take photos with you, as will the monsters in the band. All ages. $22/adv, $24/door. 8pm. Midtown Ballroom, 51 NW Greenwood Ave.

Texas Hippie Coalition

wednesday 24

If you're one of the many long-skirt twirling sun children that call Bend home, you might not want to run off to this show just because of the band's name. Texas Hippie Coalition is a heavy-as-hell Southern rock band with a badass attitude and the cowboy hats and tattoos to match. They're kind of like Pantera, but with bigger belt buckles. With special guests Tempesta and Exfixia. All ages. $8/adv at, $10/door. 7pm. Domino Room, 51 NW Greenwood Ave.
