I do not know Ben Westlund, nor have I ever met him, but for the past four days The Bulletin has been crying out "Crucify him, Crucify him, Crucify him." These words have a Biblical ring to them and have now taken on a more contemporary rendition. Ben Westlund was apparently guilty of an indiscretion in his past, some years back, which should have been done and over with but The Bulletin seems determined to "hang him on the cross of shame." If this isn't political revenge, what do you call it? Ben apparently went from being a Republican to an Independent to a Democrat. Apparently "revenge is sweet" with The Bulletin. It has been said that "Politics is a dirty game." The Bulletin played this game with a vengeance much to its disgrace. My mother once taught me that if you can't say anything good about a person don't say anything at all. Oh yes, you might like to recall the Biblical adage, "He who is without sin, cast the first stone."
