See the clip here.

5. Miley Cyrus Smoking Salvia from a Bong - Maybe if we were the ones taking a hit off that bong Miley’s music would be tolerable, but probably not.

One of the biggest gripes you'll hear about the Deschutes Brewery pub in downtown Bend has nothing to do with the quality of the food or the beer, but rather the fact that the place is always crowded.

Well that will likely change by 2012 as the brewery announced today that it is planning a significant expansion of its brew pub, which has for more than two decades operated on Bond Street.

The plan for the expansion, as stated in a press release, is for a two-story addition directly south of the current restaurant. This is planned to include both indoor and outdoor balcony seating and a private dining space. There is also a plan to expand and modernize the kitchen.

“This expansion provides the opportunity to better serve our customers and reduce wait times for seating. This also gives us a chance for some new exciting upgrades to create a better overall experience for our guests,” said Deschutes food and beverage director Mike Cooper.

The addition is the result of a partnership with Doug Knight, who previously designed the St. Clair Place building downtown in 2010.

Construction is set to begin in early 2011.

Four Loko Watch: Four Loko on Wheels?

Four Loko is now available in 15-passenger van form.

Posted By on Thu, Dec 23, 2010 at 12:42 AM

Right as we thought that there was no need to continue reporting on Four Loko, now that the only version of the high-alcohol level beverage you can get in Oregon contains no bad-decision-fueling uppers, we saw this in downtown Bend:

Four Loko

It's a good thing Four Loko no longer has the crazy chemicals in it because if people were still drinking it, because someone drunk on Loko would totally try to drink this...only to find out it's a van and not a giant can of Four Loko.

Poetry Slam at the PoetHouse Tonight

Guy J. Jackson returns to perform in his hometown at the Bend Poetry Slam.

Posted By on Wed, Dec 22, 2010 at 11:26 PM

It's fitting that a place called the PoetHouse would be the site of the Bend Poetry Slam, which is going down tonight at 7:30pm to give you some pre-holiday spoken word acrobatics to sink your teeth into.

Appearing at slam is Guy J. Jackson, who you might remember from his album with local pianist David Finch and his appearance at Last Band Standing where he showcased his excellent and often-hilarious storytelling. Jackson has since moved to L.A., but has triumphantly returned for this show -- or something like that.
