Darkside of the Moon + Wizard of Oz = Wild Night at the Tower

Dark Side of the Rainbow comes to the Tower Theatre in Bend on January 22.

Remember when you were 17 and in the basement of some friend's house late at night when one of your comrades got you hip to the theory that Pink Floyd's Darkside of the Moon synced up with The Wizard of Oz in ways that could under no circumstances could be mere coincidence? Then, you'd dig up a dusty VHS copy of Oz and a scratched vinyl edition of Darkside and test out this hypothesis.

Of course you remember this -- or maybe you don't. It may have been a little hazy down in that basement.

BendFilm is bringing this experience to the Tower Theatre on Saturday night. And it's all free! And you won't even have to wait for the second MGM lion's roar to start the music -- the Tower will do that for you.

The late night event kicks off at 10pm, following a family-oriented Oz sing-a-long.

So what do you think? Did Waters, Gilmour and company mean for Darkside to sync up? Or does it even sync up?

Apparently, all clips of the actual synced up version have been disabled for embedding, so you'll have to settle for this preview:
