Portlandia, a Comedy all About Portland, Premiers Friday

Portlandia, starring Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, premiers on IFC Friday night.

You've probably heard about this television show for a while now, but Portlandia, a vignette comedy show about life in Portland, is finally premiering on Friday night on IFC.

The show is the brain child of Saturday Night Live's Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, the Portland resident who was the guitarist for the punk band, Sleater Kinney. I heard Brownstein in an Oregon Public Radio interview, and she's pretty damn funny, as is the show.

Some Portlanders have worried that the show will inaccurately depict the city, which doesn't seem to be the case, at least from the first episode, which you can watch right here.

The show airs at 10:30pm Friday nights, beginning tomorrow night (1/21).
