127 Hours and Blue Valentine Open in Bend on Friday

Isn't it fitting the day the Oscar's are announced we find out both 127 Hours and Blue Valentine are opening at Pilot Butte this weekend? Finally, at long last, we can feast our eyes and minds on the critically acclaimed films.

127 Hours stars James Franco in the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston. Ralston must save himself after a fallen boulder crashes on his arm and traps him in an isolated canyon in Utah. The film is nominated for Best Picture, and Franco is nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role.

Blue Valentine centers around the relationship of Dean and Cindy, played by Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams, respectively. The film follows the evolution of their marriage, cross-cutting between time periods. Williams is nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
