Bend Park Board Candidate Sends Out Bin Laden Press Release

Bend Parks and Rec candidate Justin Gottlieb jumps from goose poop to international affairs.

Posted By on Mon, May 2, 2011 at 5:33 PM

There is no shortage today of press on the announcement that U.S. forces killed Osama bin Laden yesterday. Social media has been equally inundated with commentary on the death of the infamous terrorist.

Of the bin Laden-related press releases that rolled in last night and this morning, none was more bizarre than the one released by Justin Gottlieb, who is running for a seat on the Bend Parks and Recreation board of directors. Here it is, in its entirety.

For Immediate Release

May 1, 2011
Osama Bin Laden Dead!  End to War in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The campaign and supporters of Justin Gottlieb want to congratulate our troops, intelligence agencies, and allies in completion of the 10 year pursuit of Osama Bin Laden.  We are all safer now.               “We believe that the death of Osama Bin Laden marks the end to both the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.  I believe everyone is looking forward to a prosperious and peaceful future.”   - Justin Gottlieb

Gottlieb is running for the parks board on a platform that focuses almost entirely on the need to clean up the goose poop in our parks. But now it seems his campaign has gone from poop to international affairs. Not a bad leap.
