Though technically released on a limited basis in 2010, Brooklyn loop engineers Yellow Ostrich’s debut album The Mistress made nearly every list of top albums from 2011 (including mine). Now, just a year later, one of the most creative outfits making music today, are back with their sophomore album Strange Land. It’s fun… it’s serious… it’s the kind of album that saves gloomy days. You’ll be smiling from the record’s first cut “Elephant King” and may even find some emotional company on the third track “Marathon Runner”. Get started by listening to that track below and then check out the seventh song “The Shakedown”. If you want to hear the entire album, just hop on over and listen to Paste Magazine’s stream or click on the Spotify logo below. Then let us know what you think of it!
