The Source Weekly has been Central Oregon’s locally owned news outlet for over 23 years. We have always been the definition of "support local." Our success in navigating this new world is tied to the success we experience in pulling together for the common good.

Quality local journalism takes a group of dedicated reporters passionate about democracy and open government. This story is the result of our hard work, and in normal times, the result of the support of the advertisers in Central Oregon. Bachelor Buyout Organizer Threatens to Boycott Meeting

The Facebook Group is threatening a boycott of the resort's public meeting this week.

Posted By on Sun, Mar 18, 2012 at 7:08 PM

The Facebook Group pushing a community buyout of Mt. Bachelor is calling for a boycott of the resort’s public meeting this week if Mt. Bachelor refuses to rescind its spring hours that limit operations to four days per week beginning April 30.

Scott Greenstone, a local financial analyst and business consultant, who serves as the administrator of the FB Community Buy Out of Mt Bachelor (sic) of Mt Bachelor posted this weekend that if Mt Bachelor declines to revisit its operating schedule that they are “telling us clearly that they have no interest in taking actions (not words) to serve our community. I think that if they say NO, that our Community should show our SOLIDARITY by STAYING AWAY,” Greenstone wrote on Saturday.

The community forum is scheduled for 6pm, Wed. March 21 at the Riverhouse. Meanwhile, the Community Buy Out group has grown to nearly 2,000 members as of Sunday afternoon, since it was launched last week.
