Lahaina to Close

Posted By on Fri, Aug 17, 2012 at 12:39 AM

One of Bend’s most reliable and inspiring fine arts galleries, Lahaina Gallery, is closing up shot after more than a dozen years in Bend, due to the down economy.

Owner Beau Killet said that the gallery will close it’s doors Nov. 1. In the meantime, the businesses is clearing out artwork, office supplies and everything else at as much as half off. As we’ve seen before in the recession, there loss could be your gain. And if you like bold, daring visual art and haven’t checked out Lahaina, you should. If you go, you’ll likely recognize some of the art from previous Source covers as the gallery has been a consistent source of art for our publication, such as the whimsical work of Robert Bissell (above). Mahalo, Beau and Co. you guys will be missed.
