100% Local. No Paywalls.

Every day, the Source publishes a mix of locally reported stories on our website, keeping you up to date on developments in news, food, music and the arts. We’re committed to covering this city where we live, this city that we love, and we hear regularly from readers who appreciate our ability to put breaking news in context.

The Source has been a free publication for its 22 years. It has been free as a print version and continued that way when we began to publish online, on social media and through our newsletters.

But, as most of our readers know, times are different for local journalism. Tech giants are hoovering up small businesses and small-business advertising—which has been the staple for locally owned media. Without these resources, journalism struggles to bring coverage of community news, arts and entertainment that social media cannot deliver.

The White Buffalo and Scott H. Biram Shows Announced

Posted By on Wed, Aug 22, 2012 at 7:16 PM

The Horned Hand has announced two new shows to their September line-up.

The White Buffalo's song writing and gravelly voice speak to the outlaw style and sensibility of the old west. Give a listen to two of his most popular songs The Pilot and How the West Was Won and then check out his show and see why some have compared him to the likes of Bob Dylan and Hank Williams Junior. Tickets are $9.50 in advance on and $12 at the door

Austin based musician Scott H. Biram (or The Dirty Old One Man Band as he likes to refer to himself) isn’t shy. His in-your-face blues-country-punk style growls and snarls its way into your play list. Check out one of my personal favorites, I want My Mojo Back and you’ll understand the appeal of this straight shootin’ Texas blues hound. September 18th. Tickets are $12 in advance at $15 at the door.
