Inside Look at New Cafe/Gear Shop/Pub That's Opening Downtown

Crow's Feet Commons is going to be mega.

This afternoon, I went down to Crow's Feet Commons, the new cafe/boutique bike shop/backcountry ski shop/pub that's opening in the Rademacher house downtown, to see how things were coming along.

They're coming along nicely, in fact. Good enough to have a soft opening on Friday, Nov. 2 (First Friday). Assuming the Health Dept. signs off, Friday Nov. 9 is their projected grand opening.

Okay. The front-left room houses their cafe. Their La Marzocco espresso machine is up and running and owner David Marchi has piles of Stumptown beans on hand. Aside from offering endurance food (bars, gels, electrolyte mix, etc) CFC will also stock Sparrow Bakery pastries and make their own waffles. Waffle sandwiches!

And they have SIXTEEN taps. Because they're smart, they're pouring fermented beverages that you won't find elsewhere in town. Sours, ciders, Belgians—including two from new Hood River brewery Pfriem—CFC is going to great lengths to separate themselves from other Bend retailers/pubs/cafes.

Oh, and kombucha too.

The large room to the left of the cafe (west wing) holds a long high-top metal table and a FIREPLACE. This room has cozy written all over it. Beers/coffees in the winter? By the fireplace? While thumbing through a coffee table book about Seth Morrison? Deal!

The fireplace!

CFC will also sell high-end backcountry ski gear and bike stuff. The retail part is in the back room (north end of the store).

PLUS, they fix bikes! They're even working on program where, during off hours, you can sign up to use their tools and bike stand. Neat. The mechanic's area is located in the northeast portion of the shop.

Upstairs is a boot-fitting and bike-fitting space and another lounge.

This should be good.
