100% Local. No Paywalls.

Every day, the Source publishes a mix of locally reported stories on our website, keeping you up to date on developments in news, food, music and the arts. We’re committed to covering this city where we live, this city that we love, and we hear regularly from readers who appreciate our ability to put breaking news in context.

The Source has been a free publication for its 22 years. It has been free as a print version and continued that way when we began to publish online, on social media and through our newsletters.

But, as most of our readers know, times are different for local journalism. Tech giants are hoovering up small businesses and small-business advertising—which has been the staple for locally owned media. Without these resources, journalism struggles to bring coverage of community news, arts and entertainment that social media cannot deliver.

Please consider becoming a supporter of locally owned journalism through our Source Insider program. Learn more about our program’s benefits by clicking through today.

2013 may be young, but that hasn't stopped Power94 from proclaiming their sponsorship of the upcoming ROYLT King&QueenPin and Rare Individuals Ent. Underground Rap Event the best of the year. And based on today's news they've got a great shot at being right.

Director of Promotions and Events, Bart Platt, who works for Power94 has confirmed the most outrageous story to hit Bend in recent memory.

Kanye West is coming to The Domino Room this Saturday.

Accoridng to Platt, he'll be here to judge the rap competition portion of the event and is doing so because of a very close "family like" relationship with Young Sam, who is scheduled to perform that night. And Platt got that information by talking with Young Sam himself.

Tickets start at 30 bucks and are available through QueenPin Clothing with backstage and meet-and-greet options.

Let's just hope the artist West wants to win the competition gets the prize. We all know what he is capable of otherwise.

Disclaimer: we could easily see some unforeseen scheduling conflict turning this appearance from reality into fantasy. So keep that in mind when buying tickets solely on the idea West will be there.

Underground Rap Event
