This story is brought to you by Bend’s only locally owned newspaper, and crafted by journalists who live in this community, right alongside you.
We’re 100% local, and our coverage never comes with a paywall.

This story is the result of our hard work, and in normal times, the result of the support of the advertisers in Central Oregon.
In the age of COVID-19, however, that support has taken a hit—but that’s where you come in.

As you enjoy this story, we ask you kindly to consider supporting us at a time when local news is more important than ever.
Help us continue to bring you the stories of Central Oregonians affected by coronavirus, the stories of how our community is adapting, and the accounts of how our governments and local businesses are responding to the crisis.

Share the Love, Sign Petition in Support of Same-Sex Marriage

Posted By on Wed, Feb 13, 2013 at 10:18 AM

If you love love, head down to the Environmental Center Thursday and be one of the first in Oregon to sign a state-wide petition in support of same-sex marriage.

Support same-sex marriage.
  • Support same-sex marriage.

On Monday, Basic Rights Oregon, a LBGTQ activist group out of Portland, announced the formation of Oregon United for Marriage, a group that will lead the charge for a November 2014 ballot measure in support of same-sex marriage.

Signature collecting events will be held in 14 locations across the state, including smaller towns like Lincoln City, Astoria, Tillamook and Grants Pass.

We say, right on Oregon! Show your support in Bend by signing the petition and getting more information at the event.

Valentine's Day same-sex marriage support petition signing
4 p.m.-6 p.m.
February 14
