Your support for independent local news is important.

The Source Weekly has been Central Oregon’s locally owned news outlet for over 23 years. We have always been the definition of "support local." Our success in navigating this new world is tied to the success we experience in pulling together for the common good.

Quality local journalism takes a group of dedicated reporters passionate about democracy and open government. This story is the result of our hard work, and in normal times, the result of the support of the advertisers in Central Oregon. In the age of COVID-19, however, that support has taken a hit—but that’s where you come in.

We're less than a week away from National Record Store Day (Saturday 4/20) and the release of some pretty sweet vinyl albums.

Coming up in this week's issue, we've got a look at the history of RSD, a profile of our local Ranch Records as well as a handful of picks from our SOUND editor. In the meantime, you can get some in depth information about this year's RSD offerings by watching these videos from Chris Brown at the Bull Moose record store in Maine. They're a bit long, but if you're stoked for RSD like we are, they're worth the investment.

Just remember that every store will get a different selection of these releases. Most are limited edition albums and a store may only get one or none of a title. So get to your local store early!
