Whats Happening!!

Posted By on Fri, May 31, 2013 at 10:43 AM

Lets play What’s Happening in Bend this weekend. I’ll be Rerun. You be Raj. Up-and-coming NW band Eclectic Approach (named the top unsigned band at SXSW and a recent musical guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live) will generate megawatts of electro-funk at Silvermoon tonight. Strive Roots, best known for melding reggae, hard rock, funk and hip hop into a power groove, are at the Liquid Lounge. At the Domino Room local bands Jacuzzi and the Necktie Killers open for reggae/ska band the Melodramatics. Acoustic new age band Aquadeer is at the Horned Hand and The Prairie Rockets play Jacksons Corner.

Saturday The Domino Room has Chase Manhattan with special guests Doc Riz and 12th Canvas. Across the street 2nd Helping plays the M&J and Laurie Ivancie jams indie-tronica at Silvermoon. Hopeless Jack and the Handsome Devils are at the Horned Hand (for more info read Ethan Maffey’s interview in Sound). Mark Ransom plays a free show at Parrilla Grill and the Necktie Killers headline a show at the Third Street Pub. At Big T’s The Hooligans and the Confederats open for Neutralboy, a punk band who have been offering up their three cord shit-punk magic since 1992. Dig it.

Hey, hey, HEY! On Sunday Redwood Son kicks off the free Summer Sunday Concert Series at the Les Schwab Ampitheater (read more on Redwood Son in the Sound section). You can help raise money for at-risk kids in the Bend LaPine School District by attending The Face of Art Concert with MOsley WOtta, Brent Allen, The Mostest and Parlour and then wrap up the weekend at Broken Top Bottle Shop Brews and Bands with a free show by Celtic-Americana band Wild Rye.

Get out there and have some fun or Oooooooh I'm tellin' Mama.
