The Case of the Purloined Watermelons

Posted By on Wed, Jun 19, 2013 at 3:33 PM

Yesterday I walked into the office, for some unknown reason I declared it "watermelon day." Earlier, I had purchased a watermelon and when you are the editor for a newspaper sometimes you feel like you have the power to declare things - like "this is the best movie of the year," or "you should vote for this person," or, on Tuesday, "this is watermelon day."

Imagine my surprise when I was informed that on my declared watermelon day, $7000 of stolen watermelons had been retrieved.

Yes, a happy ending to watermelon day for all.
