Here's a smart thing to do next week: Go see Point Break, the 1991 Kathryn Bigelow (Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty) directed surf/bank robber movie starring Keanu Reeves and one of the world's greatest actors, Patrick Swayze. It's showing at 8 pm, Wednesday, July 17 at the Old Stone Church for FREE! Also, there will be beer.

The Swayze-ness doesn't end Wednesday—Point Break is just the first film in our summer-long tribute to the iconic actor. (Point Break is a fitting start, though. I mean, between Swayze, Gary Busey, Keanu Reeves and Anthony Kiedis ("Give it away now!") and all the foot chases, dog punting, explosions, surfing and classic lines (see above and below), catching this 1991 epic, FOR FREE, is a no-brainer.)
