La Pine Rodeo
RODEO—Rodeos have become major productions, but the
La Pine Rodeo wants you to know that behind the rhinestones and fancy fringe, the tradition has its roots in ranch life.
Mutton busting (aka children attempting to ride bucking sheep) and steer roping may be fun hoot and holler to, but they’re part and parcel of daily life for cattle ranchers.
4:30 pm. La Pine Rodeo Grounds, near 3rd and Walker. $10-$12 per show.
(Fair warning: Rodeo clowns are a real thing, not just an episode of "King of the Hill.")
