With the sun shining, this Friday evening offers the ideal conditions for enjoying live music and roaming the streets of downtown Bend for First Friday. Here are our suggestions for a weekend filled with music,
Meekoh
Head down to Crux Fermentation Project and enjoy the soul/pop vibes of local favorite Meekoh. I interview Meeko back in my freelance days when his debut album “Evolve” hit the streets. If you’ve been in Bend a long time, you may remember when Meekoh, aka Michael Lewis Martinez, busked in the breezeway. Since then, he was voted Hottest Musician in The Source’s Lust List in 2015 and recently released his new album “Fire & Diamonds.” Catch him tonight at Crux from 4:30-7:
Atlas Cider 4th Anniversary Carnival
Speaking of Atlas Cider, check out their
Dirty Revival
Don’t forget that Portland’s Dirty Revival brings their soul/funk jams to the Volcanic Theatre Pub on Saturday with opener Haley Johnsen. I profiled the band in this week’s SOUND feature. Not only do they love each other, they also love performing and are sure to put on a memorable performance. // Saturday, June 3, 9pm. Volcanic Theatre Pub, 70 SW Century Dr., Bend. $10/door.
Scott Pemberton Band
After the Bend Beer Chase, head down to Crow’s Feet Commons for an evening with the Scott Pemberton Band. The band has a wild approach to the guitar and has emerged as a funky and original force in the national festival and club circuit. // Saturday, June 3, 6:30-10pm. Crow’s Feet Commons, 875 NW Brooks St., Bend. No cover.
