100% Local. No Paywalls.

Every day, the Source publishes a mix of locally reported stories on our website, keeping you up to date on developments in news, food, music and the arts. We’re committed to covering this city where we live, this city that we love, and we hear regularly from readers who appreciate our ability to put breaking news in context.

The Source has been a free publication for its 22 years. It has been free as a print version and continued that way when we began to publish online, on social media and through our newsletters.

But, as most of our readers know, times are different for local journalism. Tech giants are hoovering up small businesses and small-business advertising—which has been the staple for locally owned media. Without these resources, journalism struggles to bring coverage of community news, arts and entertainment that social media cannot deliver.

Riot On a Sunday EP Release Show on a Friday (Today!)

Posted By on Fri, Jul 7, 2017 at 3:20 PM

When people find out you’re a music writer, they like to tell you about different bands to check out. When I first heard about Riot on a Sunday I was getting my eyebrows waxed when my esthetician told me to check them out. Not only did I dig their name, but upon first listen couldn’t wait to hear more. Fortunately, for me and the rest of Bend, Riot on a Sunday releases their self-titled 8-song EP today at the Altas Cider Co. Taproom.

Riot on a Sunday has strong roots in the Bend music scene. Lead singer Brandon Prinzing formerly shredded the six-string with Corner Gospel Explosion, a popular Bend indie rock band now comprised of brothers Tyler Parson and Bradley David Parsons. Prinzing now joins forces with Adam Buchanan, who plays bass in Riot on a Sunday.

Riot on a Sunday blends punk, folk and good ol’ rock and roll to create memorable and energetic jams with heart. Tonight, you can pick up physical copies of their new EP and enjoy cider in the sunshine. Mix in the ear candy that is Riot on a Sunday, their friends Hammerhead from Portland and you have the perfect combination for a rad Friday night in Bend.

Riot on a Sunday EP Release
Friday, July 7. 7-9pm
Atlas Cider Co. Taproom
550 SW Industrial Way Suite 190, Bend.
