Holy "Sister Christian!" Night Ranger is Still a Band. And They're Coming to Bend!

The hit 80s band, Night Ranger, comes to Bend.

Posted By on Tue, May 10, 2011 at 10:27 PM

If you're wondering what a Night Ranger is, I won't blame you. There's a good chance you're under 35 years old and/or don't hang out in a lot of karaoke bars.

But Night Ranger, the '80s rock band known for their huge hit, Sister Christian, is apparently still touring and are coming to Bend for a free show at Downtown Bend's Troy Field on July 8. That's the big grassy area next to McMenamins.

The show is a listener appreciation show for 98.3FM The Twins. If you're still one of the people who's never heard of Night Ranger, please enjoy the video below. If you're an established NR fan, feel free to blast this throughout your home and/or office.

Free Empty Space Orchestra Show Today

Empty Space Orchestra celebrates Record Store Day with a free show.

Posted By on Sat, Apr 16, 2011 at 6:03 PM

As Ethan mentioned yesterday, today is Record Store Day and our own Ranch Records is celebrating with a surprise, free show from Empty Space Orchestra.

The show is on the Brooks Street side of Ranch at 1pm this afternoon. ESO is also offering up a special edition two-song EP of unreleased material that won't be on their forthcoming record.

All right, I'll see you down at Ranch. Looks like it's going to stay dry, too.

Brandi Carlile Set to Play in Bend on May 5

Brandi Carlile makes a return appearance to Bend, Oregon.

Posted By on Mon, Mar 14, 2011 at 11:39 PM

For the third straight spring, Brandi Carlile is coming to Bend and playing a show at the Tower Theatre. The show is slated for May 5.

The singer songwriter has played in Bend a number of times and her gigs at the Tower have been delightful, so it's pretty sweet to see her make the trip down once again.

Last year, she played two shows and both of those sold out. So, if you want tickets, I'd suggest getting on top of that when they go on sale on Friday at TowerTheatre.org or the Tower box office.

Here's a video of her covering Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" last year at the Tower.
