Weekend Warrior!

Posted By on Fri, Nov 21, 2008 at 2:27 PM

Friday Night 11/21:

Will Durst at the Tower Theatre

Yeah, yeah, don't give me any more BS about how you're so "worn out" by this year's election to talk about or hear anything about politics. Get yourself to the Tower Theatre tonight and take in the political hilarity of self-described "raging moderate" Will Durst. This dude is both smart as hell and funny as hell. If you don't believe me, check out our feature from this week's Culture section. 8pm, 21 and over. Tower Theatre, 835 NW Wall St. $25/advanced, $28/door.

DJs Rada and Defekt at the Bendistillery Martini Bar

After you laugh your silly little heart out at Will Durst, round the corner and get your dance on with DJs Rada and Defekt. This might be a relatively small locale, but it's been the site of plenty o' quality dance parties as of late. Music starts around 10pm. Bendistillery Martini Bar, 835 Brooks St.

Saturday Night 11/22:

Britt Leis and Lia Koehn Benefit Show

Britt and Lia.
Check out this local lineup: Person People, Anastacia, Larry and His Flask, The Mostest and The Dirty Words. Yeah, pretty impressive. But it all makes sense because these bands are getting together to raise cash to cover the medical expenses of Britt Leis and Lia Kohn who were attacked while traveling through Ecuador. Oh yeah, and they're auctioning off a Vespa as well...suhweeeet. Kicks off at 6pm. $15 suggested donation. Tulen Center, 20 NW Greenwood Ave.

Tentareign CD Release Party at the Tower Theatre

Tentareign: born to rock.
The Blender told you about this show the day it was confirmed earlier this fall, but now the day has finally arrived when rock and roll takes over our historic downtown theater. Tentareign has all sorts of goodies lined up for you during this rock explosion including acoustic and electric sets as well as a look at new local band Goodbye Dyna. Rock and roll! $10. 8pm, Tower Theatre.
