Vote for the Source/FFE Film Music Video Contest | The Blender

Your support for independent local news is important.

The Source Weekly has been Central Oregon’s locally owned news outlet for over 23 years. We have always been the definition of "support local." Our success in navigating this new world is tied to the success we experience in pulling together for the common good.

Quality local journalism takes a group of dedicated reporters passionate about democracy and open government. This story is the result of our hard work, and in normal times, the result of the support of the advertisers in Central Oregon. In the age of COVID-19, however, that support has taken a hit—but that’s where you come in.

Vote for the Source/FFE Film Music Video Contest

Here they are, the seven finalists for the Source Weekly/Far From Earth Films music video contest. For those not savvy to the contest: here's how it works. The band or artist whose song receives the most votes will win a music video shoot from Far From Earth Films. The runner up will win a $50 gift certificate to Steve's drum studio.
A panel of judges who evaluated the 16 submissions we received on recording quality, song structure and the ability of the song to transfer to a music video chose finalists

So take a listen to the tracks below and e-mail with your favorite. You'll notice we omitted the band and artist names -- hey, we didn't want this to turn into a popularity contest. Only one vote per e-mail address will be counted, so don't get all spammy on us. Voting ends on 1/28 at noon.

UPDATE: We've noticed a bunch of people trying to vote through the comment function. These comments will not be counted as votes. As mentioned above, please send your vote to

It’s been a while since we’ve seen the talented (and now married) Matt & Kali in Bend Oregon… but that’s all going to change tonight at Silver Moon Tap Room! If you’ve missed past coverage of The Ascetic Junkies, well… you must have been hidden under a rock. From their 2010 album This Cage Has No Bottom, to the new music they are creating (and are sure to share with us tonight), most people just can’t get enough of their unique folk/rock/pop/dance goodness.
