The Return of Club 97?

Posted By on Mon, Jun 15, 2009 at 5:07 PM

Well, no, not actually. But the space that previously housed the once-popular Club 97 is opening soon as The Underground.

The Blender hasn't gotten too much by way of insider information quite yet, but what we have heard is The Underground will be entering the nightlife circuit with both live music (ranging from jazz to metal and everything in between, we heard) and DJs. Word is it will be opening sometime next month.

Those more recent-arrivers to Bend probably don't know a damn thing about Club 97, other than seeing the sign that remained along 3rd Street long after the club closed. Back in the day, Club 97 was one of the hottest night spots in all of Bend with big name touring acts taking the stage. But for a while now (seven plus years?) the space has sat vacant.
