Bend's Own Tree Dwellers Compete in National Music Contest

The high-school-aged jazz rockers of the Tree Dwellers are in the finals of the Garage Band Playoff.

The Tree Dwellers, a Bend-based band comprised of Mountain View and Bend High students, is one of the eight remaining bands for the Garage Band Playoff, a USAA sponsored contest to find the next great "road song."

The current round of voting starts today and extends through next week. To vote for The Tree Dweller’s song “Destination Unknown,” head to the Garage Band Playoff site. I’m not just saying this because they’re from Bend, but The Tree Dweller’s cut is far and away the best song in the current round of voting. Seriously, the instrumental jazzy space rock tune is technically advanced but still incredibly melodic.

The band consists of Kyle Pickard on drums, Forrest Grenfell on keys, Ian Neubauer on bass and Jake Munson on guitar.

Go vote! Now!
