Pickathon Festival Announces Final Lineup: Dr. Dog, Bonnie Prince Billy, Heartless Bastards and more

Pickathon adds to its already strong lineup.

Pickathon, the indie roots festival that takes place on a farm just east of Portland and is quickly becoming one of the bigger summer music events of the summer, just announced its final lineup.

And, whoa, phew, damn, it looks quite strong and if you're free for the weekend of August 6 to 8, then you should consider making the relatively short trip.

But here are a few notables that should catch your attention (unless you hate good music). Dr. Dog is playing two shows (like many of the performers will) during the fest, showcasing material from their recently released record Shame, Shame, a disc that departs slightly from their previous throwback pop rock to feature a more modern and rocking sound.

There's also Langhorne Slim, who played a free show here in Bend a couple years ago before going off and getting enormous.

And don't forget Bonnie Prince Billy, the increasingly legendary songwriter/singer/performer who could easily prove as the fest's biggest draw.

There's also Heartless Bastards, These United States and The Cave Singers.

So is this the biggest and best Pickathon lineup in the fest's history? Hmmm, well, I think it is.
