Bite of Bend Schedule and Music Lineup: March Fourth Marching Band, Ascetic Junkies and more

The highlights of the recently released Bite of Bend schedule.

It might still be a month off (June 26 and 27), but the music and event schedule for the Bite of Bend was just released. As far as the free music lineup is concerned, this is looking to be one of the stronger music offerings we've seen from the Bite in recent years.

Headlining the event on Saturday night is March Fourth Marching Band, the Portland mega group that is, as its name implies, a freaking marking band, complete with plenty of drums, horns and more flair than you can shake a Burning Man ticket at.

Also on the lineup are a couple acts that we've seen rolling through town frequently in the past few months, including the Staxx Brothers and the Ascetic Junkies. Locals on the bill are: The Sweet Harlots, JZ Band, Sofa Kings, Shireen Amini, Joanna Lee, Leif James and Joseph Balsalmo.

Music, obviously, plays a secondary role at the Bite of Bend -- food is the main draw and this year the Top Chef competition returns again with a big list of Central Oregon's most well-known culinary experts.

Another aspect of Bite of Bend that might not be talked about as much, is the Bend Beer Run a three-mile, three-beer chase through the westside of Bend. Beer and running? Sure, what the hell. I'll give it a try.

Here's a look at March Fourth Marching Band to hold you over for the next month.

We at the Blender believe in good ol' American justice -- and every other kind of justice.
