Win Free Tickets to Pickathon!

The big roots festival is coming up, and we've got free tickets to give away.

Posted By on Tue, Jul 27, 2010 at 4:21 PM

Pickathon, the indie roots festival that takes place on a spacious farm just outside of Portland, is now less than two weeks away, in case you didn't know. Check out the lineup for this year's festival here, and you'll see that Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Dr. Dog, Heartless Bastards, Langhorne Slim and many, many others are on the bill.

Pickathon is slated for August 6-8 at Pendarvis Farm.

Since this is one of Oregon's best music festivals -- and perhaps the best in terms of setting -- we thought we'd give you a chance to win a pair of tickets to this year's festival. All you have to do is e-mail mike@tsweekly.com with "Pickathon Contest" in the subject line before Friday, July 30 at 10am and you'll be entered into the drawing. Winners will be notified by Friday afternoon.

If you don't win, tickets are still available for Pickathon and you can get them right here.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen the talented (and now married) Matt & Kali in Bend Oregon… but that’s all going to change tonight at Silver Moon Tap Room! If you’ve missed past coverage of The Ascetic Junkies, well… you must have been hidden under a rock. From their 2010 album This Cage Has No Bottom, to the new music they are creating (and are sure to share with us tonight), most people just can’t get enough of their unique folk/rock/pop/dance goodness.
