Awesome WinterFest Video by Hellfish TV

A look at the 2011 Bend WinterFest.

Posted By on Fri, Feb 25, 2011 at 6:35 PM

I just saw this video by local production company Hellfish TV that gives an all-encompassing look at last weekend's WinterFest. The music you'll hear is a tune from Empty Space Orchestra's new album, which will be released this spring.

We might not have the conventional rush hour traffic here in Bend, but we do have to stop from time to time for stuff like this.

Video from Saturday's Winter Soulstice at the Century Center in Bend

Eric Tollefson and the World's Greatest Lovers join Mosley Wotta to raise money for the Kids Center.

Posted By on Mon, Dec 20, 2010 at 6:36 PM

Saturday night Eric Tollefson and the World's Greatest Lovers joined the Mosley Wotta band to rock out for the upcoming winter solstice and to raise money for Kids Center. The brave souls who weathered the snow storm and icy roads were treated to amazing sets by both bands. The final song at the end of Eric Tollefson's set included a collaboration between both bands that was pretty awesome. Check out the videos below.

Mosley Wotta and Eric Tollefson Invite You to Their Winter Wonderland

Mosley Wotta and Eric Tollefson's video hilarity to get you to the Soulstice Jubilee.

Posted By on Sat, Dec 11, 2010 at 5:47 AM

It's still a week out, but two local music powerhouses, Mosley Wotta and Eric Tollefson, are already getting the word out about their Soulstice Jubilee show on Saturday, December 18 at the Century Center. And they're doing so in the form of this weirdly hilarious video.

Tickets are already on sale for the Soulstice Jubilee which will feature both MoWo's full band as well as Eric Tollefson and the World's Greatest Lovers.

A portion of the proceeds from this show go to the KIDS Center, a child-abuse prevention organization based here in Central Oregon.

This New Source Staffer is Kind of a Bummer

GI Joe stops by our office...and kind of weirds everyone out.

Posted By on Fri, Dec 3, 2010 at 7:20 PM

So yeah, this guy came into the office to whip us into shape as some sort of a newspaper bootcamp charade. Yeah...not really feeling his motivational style. And he appears to be made out of plastic, which is troubling.

Blonde Redhead got super loud at the Roseland Theater last Saturday

Posted By on Mon, Nov 22, 2010 at 7:38 PM

This past Saturday I headed down to our rainy sister city to check out Blonde Redhead at the Roseland Theater. I've been a fan of the New York-based trio for a while but wasn't expecting the intense show the band put on.

Judging from their nearly two decades worth of albums, which highlight lead singer Kazu Makino's breathy, ethereal vocals, I was expecting more of what my friend called "sad lesbian music" - which I love. But instead the band put on one of the loudest shows I've heard in a while.

Makino also came onstage in a Star Wars-esque mask, and since she's super hot I'm pretty sure every trekkie in the audience got a boner. I personally thought of Diva Plavalaguna from the Fifth Element (If you don't know the reference look it up, and watch the movie while you're at it - Bruce Willis at his finest).

Below is Blonde Redhead performing Dr. Strangeluv.
