Ramsay Lets the Cat Out of the Teabag

Posted By on Tue, Nov 2, 2010 at 11:03 PM

Bend City Council candidate Scott Ramsay has invited all his fellow Tea Partiers to an “election results rally” tonight at the Sun Mountain Fun Center.

You say you didn’t know Ramsay was a Tea Partier? That’s not surprising – neither did we.

“TSUNAMA [sic] WARNING! TSUNAMA [sic] WARNING!” says the headline at the top of the e-mail invitation. “Hello Tea Party Tsunamists! Message to Barack Hussain [sic] Obama ...  Surf's Up, Dude!”

The e-mail goes on to state that “TONIGHT, Candidate Scott Ramsay has invited all Tea Partiers, Conservatives Republicans and Like-minded Voters to watch election results at his Sun Mountain Fun Center Tuesday evening (tonight!)”

It’s tonight – you got that?

Of course, Ramsay has a perfect right to be a Tea Partier if he wants to. But it would have been nice if he had told the voters he was one before Election Day – especially since Bend City Council elections are supposed to be non-partisan.

I’m really sorry to break the bad news to them during this season of peace and goodwill, but after this week the right-wingers in Bend and vicinity won’t have The Wandering Eye to kick around anymore. The decision to stop writing this blog was my own, and it was prompted by several factors. More »

For the past week or so, “Zeo” of the NW Republican blog has had his jock strap in a knot over the prospect of Congress repealing the military’s “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” rule. To hear Zeo tell it, if DADT is repealed and gays are allowed to serve openly in the US military it will mean the end not only of our armed forces but of America, its economic system and civilization in general.
