There are funny people among us here on the High Desert and some of those folks will test their hilarity tonight at the opening round of Central Oregon's Last Comic Standing. They'll tell jokes and do impressions and make fart sounds and all the other sort of good stuff that makes you explode in laughter.

The ongoing comedy competition comes on the heels of the successful Last Band Standing competition and extends through the middle of November with four qualifying nights (the first of which is tonight). Things are slated to get started at 8pm tonight at the Old Stone Church (157 NW Franklin Ave) and the event is 21 and older (because there will be Silver Moon beer on hand). And it's only $5 at the door or $3 in advance at BIGS.

Oh, and I'll be hosting the November 5 edition of the competition, so make sure you come to that one so you can laugh at me. Actually, you should go to all of these -- it's fixin' to be funny.
