Re: “Monitoring Glaciers

Yes, Davis Clark, Yes. It is being caused by excess greenhouse gases. The science is clear and well documented. The physics was first documented in the 1850’s. https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-15093234

I will never forget the silence as Owl flew over our heads in the auditorium back in the 60's. Thanks Jim & Thanks Owl!!

Re: “Monitoring Glaciers

"Regardless of the cause, we will still have to deal with the consequences."
Correct, but if man's CO2 is NOT the cause, then we only cause even more harm with the proposed solutions of higher energy prices, throwing away perfectly good cars to get new electric ones (as if most people can afford a new car), unreliable electric grid and loss of jobs. (Green jobs in other countries cause loss of ordinary jobs in other countries and they will here too.)

BTW, most of those glaciers started retreating at the end of the little ice age, the 1850s, and retreated faster in the 1930s warm period than recently.

Re: “Monitoring Glaciers

Has anyone yet found actual evidence that this is caused by man's CO2?

Re: “Optimism and the Climate

Wonderful article to pull at the heartstrings of the public. It might be more educational for the public to be reading about the realistic probabilities of emission reform based on statistics. Not just one side, but all sides. Anyone who is concerned with our environment should be out planting trees and lobbying for more people to do so.

Re: “Optimism and the Climate

This is a wonderful article. It means a lot to me as a long term resident of central Oregon. I've seen s lot of change, and getting green soon will be a positive one.

Graham Zimmerman is an excellent fellow and an awesome climber. I had the opportunity to spend two months with him in Linksar, Pakistan. I found him very professional and a dedicated person for his subject in hand. I wish him all the best and happy landings in the days to come .

Re: “Bend or Bust

Great questions! We deeply care about the land we live on and the water we play on! We are currently working with Terracycle to try and work out an upcycle alternative with our expired products, and we are consistently working to improve our products - both in regards to usability and sustainability.

Are their products sustainable? Are they a petroleum based product, if so, forget it! And Hell No to a giant eyesore water park floating in the pristine waters of Bend, Oregon!

Don't do whitewater with a leash. You may think you can release it, but you underestimate the crushing power of moving water. Learn the clean principle. https://www.raftingmag.com/rafting-magazin…

Re: “Bend or Bust

SUPs, Kayaks and Canoes fine, but the Aquapark crap in this picture has no place in Central Oregon anywhere! total plastic crap that is a waste of money and an eyesore! and it will end up in the landfill in a few years! don't do it!

Re: “Running of the Dogs

Ms. McLeod, I have been looking for a reputable Brittany(Walk-Hunting Line) breeder in Oregon. I currently have a 9 year old Britt and have had trouble locating a breeder for our next pup. Could you provide any suggestions? Thank you!

Re: “East Trails Project Off and Running

Enjoyed reading the article about additional trails in the area and, more especially, enjoyed e-bike acceptance. I do not own an e-bike, however, I am a female mountain biker, 55, and I want to enjoy doing this for many, many years to come. Also, my brother in law has had aorta replacement due to radiation from cancer in his younger years and at 60 he loves riding a bike, but needs an e-bike to do so. E-bikes assist pedaling which allows people to enjoy riding their bikes, who may not have been able to do so. It is fabulous! Great hearing about the trails! Thank you.

If you are going out there don't forget your discs! There is a 27 teepad really fun small disc golf course that starts just minutes away. Bike and disc in the same day!
