Re: “Saving the Grain

uhh...the only person I know of who is actually credited with originating kale chips is Chef Dan Barber of Blue Hill (NYC) an Stone Barns fame. But why let facts get in the way of a dressed up PR release....

Re: “Saving the Grain

" Pool had already been in the health food industry and created kale chips," REALLY? you're saying Pool INVENTED kale chips? c'mon. And when is the Source going to quit shamelessly flogging products and businesses. Credibilty for the Source is zero these days.

Re: “Melts in Your Mouth

Your recipe seems amazing. Good food is crucial in a wedding party. Finding an efficient and reliable caterer can be one of the most important steps when it comes to planning a wedding. In order to narrow down search one of my friends suggested me to explore online to find the best caterer possible. I would definitely ask my caterer to add them all to make the party memorable.

Re: “La Magie Bakery: Bringing magic to Bend

I sat down to eat at La Magie, outside, after waiting for 20 minutes for a table and was never acknowledged, even after I alerted someone clearing tables. When I emailed them, I never received a response either. They clearly don't care about their customers.

Re: “Simpler Times: Sargent's Café serves up classic American diner fare for more than six decades

This restaurant was probably opened in the early '50's. I worked for Frank and Mary when I was in High School from 1969 till about 1970/71. My mom worked there before that and my son worked there in the 90's when he was in High School. Frank and Mary Sargent owned it back then and through at least the early '80's The original Cafe was only one story and Frank and Mary lived in an apartment that was in the back. I believe in the late '70's the restaurant burned. Some of the building was salvageable. After the fire is when it became bigger and the second story apartment was added.

Re: “Eco Eats

"Ethical and Environmental" reasons can be considered the same forgot to mention the other group of people who eat a plant based diet for their own personal health concerns. Over 600,000 people die every year from heart disease in this country and the plant based, whole food diet has been proven to reverse heart disease without the use of medications. Close to 70% of adults in the US between the ages of 20-75 are now obese. Many types of cancer people think are genetic or just appear out of nowhere are linked to processed meat and dairy products. "Taking a day off from animal products" is not cutting it for the environment, the animals, or the general health of citizens. Animal Agriculture is the leading cause of Global Warming, Deforestation, Water Depletion, Species Extinction, and Ocean Dead Zones. Think about that next "Earth Day" when you're sitting around a bunch of people stuffing their faces with cheeseburgers and hot dogs. "they believe industrialized farming of animals is bad for the environment and unsustainable"... It's not an opinion

Re: “Drink the Trees

"Next time you hike grab a handful of Douglas Fir tips
NO Dont do that!
Not only is it illegal to take from public lands,
but every tourist or even bendite grabing a handful of the forest
on their way home is not a good thing!
